Senpai Kai Ogasawara in Poland

From February 1–8, 2026, the Husaria Dojo held a winter training camp. The head instructor was Kai Ogasawara Senpai, a World Heavyweight Champion, whose presence set a high technical, physical, and mental standard for the entire camp.

The program was designed with uchideshi in mind, ready for full immersion in training and daily work on details.

Each day of the camp consisted of 3–4 training units, conducted in the spirit of classical, demanding keiko. Training began early and ended late in the evening, and fatigue was a constant companion – precisely the kind that allows one to push one's limits.

A great deal of emphasis was placed on kata:
•precision of technique,
•stability of postures,
•correct breathing,
•rhythm and intention of movement.

Kata was not treated as an end in itself, but as the foundation for real combat. Each element was then analyzed for its application in kumite – from hip movement, through distance, to timing and reaction to the opponent.

Kumite was a natural extension of the form work. The fights were demanding, dynamic, and without compromise, but also conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Senpai Ogasawara consistently emphasized that:
•Kata techniques emerge spontaneously in the fight,
•Movement is economical and conscious,
•Decisions are made under the pressure of fatigue.

For many participants, this was a turning point – when theory ceased to exist, and pure action remained.

One of the highlights of the training camp was the trip to Dojo Kołobrzeg. Training in a new location, with a different energy and different training partners, proved to be an incredibly valuable experience. It was not only an opportunity for hard work but also for integration within the karate community. Training together demonstrated how much can be gained by stepping outside one's own dojo and comparing one's skills with others.

The next step was a visit to the Chojna Dojo. The training sessions in Chojna were very rigorous and combative. Fatigue, pressure, and new opponents forced everyone to dig deep – both physically and mentally.

Despite the enormous effort, a great atmosphere prevailed throughout the week. Shared meals, post-training conversations, and mutual support made the training camp not only training-oriented but also formative.

Demanding keiko, challenging kumite, and the presence of a world-class champion created the conditions for real development. The Hussars' Winter Training Camp 2026 was a time of hard work, but also a confirmation that the path of budō leads through discipline, community, and constantly pushing one's limits.

Kagami Biraki Seminar 2026

Kagami Biraki was a time of intense work, exchange of experiences, and true contact karate 🥋
During the event, many keiko took place, each bringing a different value and perspective on the warrior's path. 👊 The classes were led by experienced instructors and shihans:
🔹 Shihan Jarosław Remus – combat tactics, combinations, and kumite
🔹 Shihan Radosław Ambroziak – concentration, precision, and depth of technique
🔹 Shihan Piotr Zembrzuski – controlling the pace of the fight, vital points, and body tension in kumite
🔹 Sensei Michał Dziedzic – the foundations of kichon and kata elements
🔹 Sensei Paweł Falko
🔹 Sensei Bartek Engel – a different perspective on leading keiko, stimulating the body and mind through games and movement activities with karate elements
Each keiko was a powerful developmental stimulus – technical, mental, and physical 💥
These weren't ordinary training sessions; these were karate lessons at the highest level. They were filled with joy, constructive conversations, and the exchange of experiences in a truly friendly atmosphere. A unique sense of unity and mutual respect. Different organizations – one BUDO path.

As always, the Hussars could look forward to special surprises. In addition to a medal – another piece of the larger puzzle – a collector's card, and fantastic commemorative T-shirts from Mr. Daniel Bagiński of Ortofach Sięgij Po Pomoc, something absolutely unique awaited them in this edition… WONDERFUL JACKETS donated by Mr. Artur Ambrożewicz, President of Vulcan Training & Consultancy. Polish Karateka became an Uchideshi of Hanshi Daigo Ohishi

Aleksander Ambroziak became an Uchi Deshi (内弟子) – a private student of Hanshi Daigo Oishi, leader of the So-Kyokushin organization, who himself was the uchi deshi of the legendary Masutatsu Oyama.

On October 2, 2025, instructor and representative of the Szczecin Sports Club Husaria – Senpai Olek Ambroziak – was officially introduced to Japanese karateka by Hanshi Daigo Oishi as Hanshi Uchi Deshi. For the next eight months, Aleksander will face many sacrifices, and his days will be entirely devoted to training and studying under Hanshi's guidance.

"This is not only a great honor, but also an honor and responsibility, as he will represent the spirit of Polish Kyokushin karate on Japanese soil."

Uchi Deshi (内弟子) is the Japanese term for a student who is completely dedicated to learning, training, and assisting with the daily duties of the dojo. This is an intensive and traditional form of learning, providing direct contact with a master and full immersion in the philosophy and culture of martial arts.

Senpai Olek,
CONGRATULATIONS AND WISHING YOU PERSEVERANCE AND GOOD LUCK.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for you.

IKO So-Kyokushin Poland Seminar at Budo Center 2025

From September 12th to 14th, 2025, the unique Budo Center in Stara Wieś hosted the nationwide IKO World So-Kyokushin seminar, which brought together Kyokushin karate enthusiasts from across the country. This annual event, eagerly awaited by many karateka, once again confirmed its status as one of the most important training events.

Participants had the opportunity to train in a remarkable location – the Budo Center in Stara Wieś, considered the most beautiful training center in Europe, with an atmosphere ideally suited to learning and perfecting martial arts. The natural surroundings, the harmony of Japanese-inspired architecture, and the excellent training facilities created unforgettable conditions for working on technique, fitness, and spirit.

The first Keiko began with a moment of silence and remembrance of our Mentor and Friend – Shihan Józef PIETRAS. The seminar was then divided into three main training blocks, ensuring that every participant – regardless of their level of advancement – could gain maximum knowledge and inspiration from the event:
•Improving Kata for Black Belts – led by Shihan Radek Ambroziak, who shared his extensive knowledge, acquired during frequent trips to Japan, where he acquired it directly from Hanshi Daigo Ohishi and Shihan Tomoyuki Monma. The keiko sessions focused on the precision and meaning of individual movements, a deeper understanding of the philosophy of kata, "Kankyu," "Kyojaku," and "Ma."
•Training for the So-Kyokushin Poland Kumite Team – led by Shihan Piotr Zembrzuski. Participants learned advanced fighting strategies, developed reaction speed, strength, and endurance, and practiced techniques that are the foundation of effective kumite at the highest level.
•Kata training for colored belts – led by Senpai Olek Ambroziak, who passionately and deeply committedly taught the basics and secrets of kata, building a solid technical foundation for younger karateka.

The seminar was not only an intense physical activity but also a unique opportunity to delve into Japanese culture and language. Participants learned the meaning of many concepts used daily in the dojo, as well as the philosophy behind them. This made training an even more profound experience, uniting body and mind.

The three days in Stara Wieś were filled with passion, determination, and mutual support. Meeting so many people with similar values and a passion for karate created an extraordinary atmosphere – full of respect, inspiration, and positive energy. The shared Keiko, conversations, and exchange of experiences between participants will long remain in the memories of all who had the opportunity to participate in this event.

Huge thanks go to Sensei Lukasz Sekiewicz, his wife, the students, and the Seminar Instructors Shihan Radek, Shihan Piotr and Senpai Olek for their commitment and professionalism, making the seminar not only a training experience but also a spiritual journey into the world of karate and Japanese tradition.

This event demonstrates that karate is not just a martial art – it's a path to self-improvement, character development, and building bonds within the karateka community.

Osu!

Shihan Mac Robertson visited Poland

From September 4th to 7th, we had the great honor of participating in a unique seminar led by Shihan Mac Robertson from the UK. During his stay in Poland, Shihan Mac, known for his extensive experience and passion for karate, visited the Husaria Szczecin, Buntai Kołobrzeg, and Shodan Chojna dojos at the invitation of Shihan Radek. He led joint training sessions with karate students from the aforementioned dojos and guests from dojos in Moryń, Koszalin, and Gdynia, sharing his knowledge and inspiring all participants. The meetings provided not only an opportunity to refine techniques but also to deepen our understanding of the essence of Kyokushin—both practical and philosophical.

The first day of the seminar at Husaria began with work on breathing and its importance in karate practice. We paid particular attention to the sanchin kata, exploring its practical applications in combat and in building inner strength. Shihan also emphasized the precision of executing stances, strikes, and blocks, emphasizing that it's the details that make a technique effective. During the class, each of us also had the opportunity to ask questions, which Shihan answered openly, sharing his extensive experience and practical tips.
The second day was devoted to various methods of working with breath  used in various disciplines.
Shihan Mac spoke about his experiences outside of Kyokushin, pointing out the many commonalities between different styles and how they can complement each other.
The main focus of the training was the tensho kata, along with its accompanying techniques.
Shihan shared many valuable tips on discipline, concentration, and the role of imagination in training.
Finally, we took a fresh look at taikyoku kata, performing them in various ways—including backwards and inverted. This allowed us to discover new possibilities and look at familiar patterns in a completely different way. The seminar with Shihan Mack Robertson was an incredibly valuable experience for us—both technically and spiritually.
The knowledge and inspiration we gained will undoubtedly be reflected in our daily training.
We are incredibly grateful to Shihan for his time, openness, and the wealth of knowledge he imparted. We hope that in the future we will have the opportunity to welcome him to Poland again and continue our shared journey in the spirit of Kyokushin.
Osu!
